Top 5 Reasons not to use a Trigger Lock part II
Well let’s get back to it. We left off with reason #3 why, Gives a false sense of Security, let’s move on to the #2 reason.
Reason #2. The action, slide or cylinder can still be manipulated. The essence of large percentage of the mechanics that allow for a gun to fire, still work. If you leave ammo in the gun…as I’ve suggested that you don’t with a trigger lock, portions of the gun can still be tampered with. I’m getting a little ahead of myself and am diving into the waters of Reason #1 but being able to turn the cylinder, rack the slide or somehow move the action of any firearm is totally contrary to the inherent purpose of having a trigger lock. I could belabor this but let’s move on to the absolute #1 reason that you shouldn’t use a Trigger Lock.
Reason #1. It’s possible to still fire it. Whaaaat??.
That’s correct. This is the absolute top reasons why you shouldn’t use a Trigger lock. If you put it on the firearm, lock it as tight as you can, point it downrange (At a range) and pull the trigger. If you pull hard enough it is still possible to move the trigger. This defeats all the other reasons why this isn’t a good idea. If it can be stolen, removed, the action manipulated and still be fired, it’s of no use to me.
Well Stay tuned for more. Until then…
