NRA BASIC PERSONAL PROTECTION IN THE HOME COURSE (Qualifies for Michigan’s CPL/CCW Permit).
Skill Level:You will need previous firearm experience to participate in this course. If you have no prior experience, check out our Introduction to Firearms Safety Class. Click here.
This class is an 8-hour NRA certified course. Students will learn basic defensive shooting skills, strategies for home safety and responding to a violent confrontation, firearms and the law, how to choose a handgun for self-defense, and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Personal Protection In The Home Handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules Brochure, the Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification Booklet, and Course Completion Certificate. NRA Basic Personal Protection In The Home course is for law-abiding adult citizens, as defined by applicable federal, state, or local law. Students should expect to shoot approximately 50 rounds of ammunition at the range. If you do not have a firearm we can rent one for the course for $15.00.

Note: This class can also be taken as a One-on-One or a Couples/Buddies class. The cost is $185 per person. We can be more flexible in days/times with this type of class to help fit your busy schedule. This is a great choice if you’re nervous about taking a class with others or you’ve been having trouble fitting a class into your daily life.
